It’s a difficult time in our world. Of course, we have had much worse. The Great Depression that many of our parents and grandparents were born into or lived through. The 1300’s in Europe when the Bubonic Plaque swept through. The first settlers in the Roanoke Colony probably had it rough before they disappeared.
Nonetheless, it is a rough time for all business. Which makes it prime time for Customer Service. So, when you have angry Customers, let them vent, let them post comments, whatever it takes to get it all out of their system.
Once they do, go into super smoothe mode (the extra ‘e’ is for super-ness) and work your magic at turning them back to the light. You know the drill. Apologize. Sincerely. Then, make it correct. Fix it.
Whatever you do, don’t add to the situation. 9 times out of 10, they will appreciate your efforts and come back to you. Maybe not today, but they will in the long run.
Because we need our Customers.
