Tip #17 – Customers Are Part Of A Community

soldiers in airportWhile travelling for work, I witnessed an incredibly unifying experience.  Several airlines (Delta Airlines among them) recognize the military travelling with them by asking them to board first and also announcing that there are 1, 2 or however many military members travelling aboard the aircraft.

Each and every time that this happens, there is applause and a general sense of pride and community.  I love the feeling and as a military veteran, I can appreciate this gesture that Delta and other airlines extend to our military men and women in uniform.

I encourage you to find that part of the community that overlaps both your Customer and your business and then publicly recognize and embrace that.  Your Customers will love it and it will embed you further with them.
